Space Ace: COMBAT
Made for the Kenney Jam of 2023- (restriction: art assets must be sourced from available Kenney asset packs. I have used Space Shooter Redux, Space Shooter Extension, and UI Pack [Space Expansion])
CONTROLS:
WASD or Arrow Keys to control thrust
(Space to engage your space-brakes, to come to a stop)
E to advance text boxes (or to restart)
(G to "give up" and explode at any time)
Aim your guns with the mouse, and left-click (or hold Q or E) to fire!
M to mute/unmute game audio
Your have a small amount of shields over your health, which will regenerate to full after a few moments out of combat.
PS: Apologies in advance, if "space shooter moving from location to location" isn't exploration enough for the jam! The 48hr deadline gave me little room to course-correct the game's theme over simply developing what wanted to be developed.
PPS: Day 0 patch, apparently one instance of the folder name "Effects" wasn't capitalized, causing shields to appear as missing textures, but only in the published build (the development build is lax with capitalization)
PPPS: As always with DR web builds, the downloadable version runs at a smooth uninterrupted 60fps and the web build doesn't! Download the game for the dev-intended experience. (Otherwise, try the web build, the lower speed reduces the difficulty)
